Those in attendance throughout most of The Challenge on Jan. 7 likely left Pickerington North believing they got their money’s worth.
Bradley, which has just one senior in forward David Heath, is 8-3 and is led by a strong junior class. South is 10-1 after winning 15 games last season, with its victory over the Cardinals the latest evidence of how much it has improved from a year ago. The Cardinals got 10 points apiece from junior guard Kingston Johnson, senior post player Vanness Provitt and senior forward Joey Zalewski and eight from senior post player Melvin Omameh. They are 5-5 but had won three in a row before losing to South.It’s never wise to doubt Gahanna, but the reality is we didn’t know what to expect from this team following the loss of a strong 2022 class led by current Marquette freshman Sean Jones.
Still, the way North battled throughout its victory over Northland in the finale of The Challenge, improving to 10-1, is further evidence it isn't a team to be overlooked despite having limited size and experience.
