In a statement today, the Foreign Ministry said that the Malaysians – from one family – are being treated at the Suez Hospital for Health Insurance and the Sheikh Zayed Specialised Hospital.

"Officers from the Malaysian Embassy in Cairo visited the victims to extend necessary consulate help to them," it added. Wisma Putra also reiterated that no Malaysian was killed in the traffic accident in which six people died – contrary to foreign media reports. Foreign news agencies had earlier reported that two Malaysians were among six people killed when their tour bus – en route from Hurghada to the Ain Sokhna resort on the Red Sea – collided with another tour bus and a truck at 11am local time on Saturday.Ain Sokhna is a popular seaside resort town in the Suez governorate southeast of Cairo.
