Maranan said the investigation was conducted after the names of the five policemen cropped up at the course of the investigation in connection with the 34 missing cockfighting players–all of them remain unaccounted to date. The five cops allegedly introduced themselves as agents of the National Bureau of Investigation when they entered the house of Lasco and claimed that they had an arrest warrant against him for large scale estafa.
The case of Lasco is one of the eight cases handled by the CIDG SITG “Sabungero” who took cognizance of the said case for further investigation after the complaint for kidnapping filed by the victim’s family before the City Prosecutors Office in San Pablo City was dismissed.
