47-year-old pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run crash in University Heights [Breaking]
A 47-year-old man was struck by a car and seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in University Heights on Saturday night, San Diego police said.
The crash occurred about 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of El Cajon and Park boulevards. Police said the man was standing just outside of a crosswalk, near a bus lane, when a driver headed north on El Cajon Boulevard turned right onto Park Boulevard. The car — a dark colored Honda Civic or BMW 3 series — struck the man, and the driver did not stop, police said.The man was rendered unconscious and suffered injuries including a cut to the back of his head, a fracture in his right shoulder and brain bleeding. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
