PUTRAJAYA: A total of 45 cases of heat-related illness have been reported nationwide up to Saturday , says Health director-general Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan .Perak and Kedah had eight cases each while six were reported in Selangor, he said in a statement on Sunday .

Dr Muhammad Radzi said four cases were still being treated in hospitals: one heatstroke case in the intensive care unit, as well as two heatstroke cases and one heat exhaustion case in regular wards. He also urged the public to avoid exposure to hot weather and rest more frequently during, opt for visits during cooler times of day or at night, especially when visiting relatives and friends during the festive celebrations.
