In the incident at about 6.30pm, Muhamad Luqman Hakim Al Rashid Mohamed Sabarudin; Muhammad Zul Fahmi Zuki; Muhammad Ikhwan Ahmad Azhan; and Mohamad Amir Izzudin Zulkiflee, all aged 21, are said to have been lounging at a rocky area of the beach when they slipped and fell into the water and were swept away by strong waves.from the Dungun, Chukai and Kuala Berang stations rushed to the location after receiving an emergency call at 6.33pm.
