A devastating morning inferno claimed the lives of four people, three of whom were children, at a home in the Bronx, FDNY officials said Sunday.

The fire started around 6 a.m. in a multi-level residence on Quimby Avenue near Castle Hill Avenue in the Unionport section, according to department officials. Two children were discovered in the residence and pronounced dead at the scene. A third child and an adult transported from the scene did not survive.

Police said the youngest victim was a 15-month-old girl, and the other children were 10 and 12 boys. The fourth victim was a 22-year-old man. The city's medical examiner will determine their cause of deaths.
