He said the 3,841 students would be involved in intra-zone movements – from the east zone to east peninsular states of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan as well as south zone involving students in Johor, Melaka and Negri Sembilan.
Students who study in colleges and universities in Perak and Sarawak and whose hometown is within the state will also be going home. "The movement of students in east and south zones will start at 9pm today while efforts to send affected students in Perak and Sarawak have begun since 9am," he said at his daily press briefing on Thursday.
On enforcement activities under the movement control order , Ismail Sabri said the authorities had conducted 828 roadblocks nationwide and checked 633,821 vehicles on April 29. A total of 683 individuals were arrested for violating the MCO on Wednesday , bringing the cumulative number of arrests made since the MCO was enforced on March 18 to 22,442 people.
