KUALA LUMPUR: All 3R cases are investigated by the police without fear or favour, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail assures the Dewan Rakyat .

“I have given the police the full freedom to carry out their investigations transparently and without disturbance. Saifuddin was responding to a question by Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang , who had asked him to spell out the definition of cases that can be categorised as 3R. Saifuddin said the Sedition Act, Penal Code and the Communications and Multimedia Act are the laws governing the 3R issues.As for the Penal Code, Section 298 and Section 298A are used to investigate offences that could disrupt religious peace.As for the CMA, Section 211 covers offences related to offensive content while Section 233 is related to the misuse of network and services to spread obscene, indecent, false, menacing, or offensive content.
