NSTnation: Mohamad said that the cash was discovered inside three backpacks which were placed on the front passenger seat and in the boot of the car.
State Customs director Dr Mohamad Saprin said the bust unfolded on Feb 7 when the team stopped a Honda Accord at the Bukit Berapit Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security complex, in Pengkalan Hulu.
Mohamad said that the cash was discovered inside three backpacks which were placed on the front passenger seat and in the boot of the car. "The enforcement team ordered the three women, including two Thais, to open the bags, but they refused to do so saying that their backpacks were only filled with clothes and food.
"However, further checks by the team revealed that there was cash in the backpacks," he told reporters at the state Customs Department here, today. Mohamad added that the three women, aged between 40 and 51, were detained and the vehicle and backpacks were confiscated.Related stories
