3 turned over to Border Patrol after taking personal watercraft to Ocean Beach [Breaking]
Three men suspected of entering the U.S. on a personal watercraft were found by San Diego lifeguards under the Ocean Beach pier early Monday, officials said.
U.S. Coast Guard officials requested lifeguards to assist them after spotting the watercraft entering the surf line near Sunset Cliff around 5:40 a.m., said Mónica Muñoz, a spokesperson for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. Lifeguards sent a rescue boat and two land units to the location and found three men — thought to be between 30 and 40 years old — under the Ocean Beach pier wearing wet clothing. They were uninjured, she said.The Coast Guard notified U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials and the three were turned over to be processed.
