Jaguars finish regular season at 6-6 for 2nd straight year
The Jaguars fell 45-38 at Hancock Whitney Stadium, failing to hold on after leading by seven at halftime and three early in the fourth quarter. South Alabama — which went down 52-44 to the Bobcats in San Marcos in 2023 — finishes the regular season at 6-6 overall, 5-3 in Sun Belt play, with Louisiana clinching the West Division title after the Jaguars’ loss.
The Jaguars now await their bowl assignment, which they will learn on Dec. 8. Before that, here are three takeaways from South Alabama’s 7-point loss in the regular-season finale.The Jaguars have all kinds of trouble when opponent go with tempo, as we’ve seen against Western Kentucky, Tulane and now Texas State in recent years. The play of Pritchett and Voisin — both seniors — was among the bright spots on Friday, with Pritchett catching 10 passes for 85 yards and a touchdown and Voisin totaling 14 tackles and the aforementioned drive-killing interception. Pritchett now has 91 receptions for 1,126 yards and nine touchdowns this season, tying Caullin Lacy’s 2023 school record for catches and Jalen Wayne’s program mark for TDs.
