HireRight found that social media screening was a hot topic, with the survey responses showing that there has been year-over-year growth worldwide in the number of organizations doing social media checks. "In the US, numerous states have passed laws restricting an employer's access to the social media accounts held by a prospective candidate or worker," Alonzo Martinez, associate general counsel at HireRight said, according to the survey.
