KUALA LUMPUR: Twenty-four unauthorised users approved applications to bring in foreign workers under the Foreign Workers Centralised Management System , says Public Accounts Committee chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin .

“There are 24 unauthorised users who had approved 24 applications by employers. This matter has been reported to the police to investigate the matter,” she told a press conference at the Parliament media room here on Wednesday .She said the FWCMS contract between the vendor and government had not been finalised and signed, even though an acceptance letter was issued on Jan 12, 2018, up to the PAC proceedings on March 13 this year.

"This resulted in overlapping functions between agencies in developing the foreign worker management system and a wastage of public funds,” she added. Witnesses were called from the two ministries, the Audit Department, the Peninsular Malaysia Labour Department, and FWCMS vendor Bestinet Sdn Bhd.
