KOTA KINABALU: Twenty-three China nationals who came to Sabah as tourists have been arrested for allegedly being involved in online gambling.
The foreigners, four of whom are women, were picked up from several condominium units at Jalan Bundusan near here on Sunday .
Sabah Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Zaini Jass said in the first raid, six men aged between 20 and 24 were nabbed while they were busy"at work". “We seized 25 laptops, 55 handphones and five money transfer machines among others, ” he said during a press conference here on Tuesday .“Another four women and three men were arrested next, ” he added.
Zaini said the suspects, aged in their 20s and 30s, were believed to have just started their operation several days ago.“We are trying to find out how those who didn’t have documents managed to arrive in Sabah, ” he added.
