Following that, the CGF offered a fund injection of £100mil to Malaysia, which hosted the Games in 1998, and other member countries to try and save the quadrennial Games. The CGF earlier this month hailed Malaysia’s “fantastic track record”, the country having staged the Games—which mostly includes former British colonies—in 1998.
