Rapper, Nicki Minaj has spoken out and appeared to have taken shots at Jay-Z after Kendrick Lamar was selected as the headliner of the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show instead of her former record label boss, Lil Wayne.
DAILY POST reports that the National Football League, Apple Music and Jay-Z's Roc Nation recently announced Lamar as the headliner of the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans. Following the announcement, some fans have been criticising Jay-Z, who was in charge of the selection, for picking Lamar instead of Wayne. Joining the bandwagon, Minaj in a series of posts on her X handle on Monday, seemed to have taken a swipe at Jay-Z as he fumed over Lil Wayne's snub.
She wrote, 'Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego. Your hatred for Birdman, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?! Lil Wayne! The GOAT! Nola, what's good?! 'Eminem stood firm on having 50Cent come out. A white man. Sh*t sad. House n*gger timz. but it’s good fi dem! No loyalty? Welp. then n*ggaz will keep son’ing you!' Minaj added that Lil Wayne has impacted the hip-hop world with his talent and grace.
