The BST Edition 270 becomes the 230?
with a lot of power and promise on paper, we found it unemotional and not super sporty in practice. That hasn't stopped Polestar from expanding the BST program to another limited run of performance-tuned Polestar 2 cars, which it's now confusingly dubbing the Polestar 2 BST Edition 230, a smaller number than the original 270.
The entire chassis rides an inch lower on 20-percent stiffer springs, and the car adopts a front strut bar, black wheels, two-way adjustable racing-spec Öhlins BST Edition dampers, and a set of 245/35-series 21-inch Pirelli P Zero HL tires that were developed specifically for the special Polestars. The previous 270 is EPA-rated at 98/91/96 mpg-e, and considering most of that design carries over to the new 230, we expect similar efficiency.
So what's actually new about the Polestar 2 BST Edition 230 versus the 270? Save the shorter production run and different name, the Edition 230 will be available with a new exclusive Green Nebula exterior paint job , a new MicroSuede textile finish on the interior seats and steering wheel, and an optional full-length exterior body stripe. Deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of this year, and order slots are first-come, first-serve on Polestar's website.
