As political parties in Imo State plan to conduct their primary elections in preparation for the forthcoming Local Government polls selected for September 21, the Chairman of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, ISIEC, Charles Ejiogu has read the operational Riot Act to the entire workforce of the Commission.

Ejiogu warned his team that they must exhibit uncommon diligence and transparency in the discharge of their statutory responsibility to the numerous publics of the Commission.

Chief Charles Ejiogu enthused that ISIEC's presence during the primaries will lend ample credence to the quest of fostering internal democracy on the part of registered political parties. While responding on behalf of the Electoral Officers, the EO for Orlu Local Government Area, Mr Livinus Okpara assured the management and staff that the Electoral Officers will not let the Commission, government and good people of Imo State down.
