2023 GMC Canyon Teased In Off-Road Focused AT4X Guise, Will Debut This Summer | Carscoops carscoops
Redesigned for the first time in nearly a decade, the next-generation mid-size truck will feature a muscular design, a modern interior, and an all-new AT4X trim.2022 Sierra AT4X
, which features a dark nickel grille and 18-inch aluminum wheels with a gloss black finish. The Sierra AT4X also boasts high-end amenities such as massaging front seats, Vanta ash wood trim, and a microsuede headliner. However, it’s not a luxury truck as the Sierra AT4X is off-road focused and features Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers as well as unique springs that give the model an additional 1-2 inches of suspension travel. Other highlights include front and rear e-locking differentials, upgraded underbody protection, and a Terrain mode that allows for one-pedal off-road driving.
It remains unclear how many of the upgrades will carryover to the Canyon AT4X, but GMC noted the teaser image provides a glimpse of the truck’s rock rails and 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels that are wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires. We can also see pronounced front fenders, chiseled bodywork, and a flatter beltline. GMC added the Canyon AT4X will set a “new standard in advanced off-road performance” and noted the trim combines “serious capability” with “uncompromising refinements.
Inside, drivers will find a modern cockpit that sports a new steering wheel and a freestanding infotainment system. The truck is also slated to adopt higher quality materials, modern switchgear, and more advanced driver assistance systems.is offered with three different engines, but previous reports have suggested the lineup will be consolidated and consist of a single turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder.
