After a raid on the GISBH charity home last year rescued 400 children, 200 former GISBH children will attend government schools. The Selangor state government is ready to provide the necessary school assistance. The children, who previously received only informal education, will be helped to transition into formal schooling. The Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) has applied for these children to be admitted to national schools. The state government has agreed to provide school assistance to them like other children, insya-Allah we will personally provide it to each child.

Last year, the nation was shocked by news of a raid on the GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd ( GISBH ) charity home on September 11, which successfully rescued 402 children. Following this, a religious teacher and warden, Muhammad Barur Rahim Hisam, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the abuse of three male children at the charity home . The issue surrounding GISBH has been widely discussed, leading to claims that the group practiced deviant teachings .

Four states, namely Perlis, Selangor, Pahang, and Melaka, have declared GISBH as a deviant teaching. According to the Selangor state's Islamic Affairs Standing Committee chairman, Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah, the children, who previously only received informal education, will be assisted as a step in supporting their schooling. He said that the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) had made an application for the 200 children involved, who have completed their rehabilitation, to be admitted to national schools. 'The state government has agreed to provide school assistance to them like other children, insya-Allah we will personally provide it to each child. So far, there is no specific allocation (school aid) but we also received offers from external donors who want to help, we set it perhaps at RM200 for each child who will go to school later,' he said, as quoted by Berita Harian. He elaborated that reports received by the state government found that all the children were proficient in reading, writing, and arithmetic during the rehabilitation period. 'As for children with disabilities (OKU), which is a small number, they can be admitted to national schools (SK) as required by the Social Welfare Department (JKM),' he said. Muhammad Fahmi stated that the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) should provide Riqab zakat assistance to rehabilitated former GISBH members according to the decree of the Selangor Sultan, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. On October 1, the Ministry of Health (KKM) informed that the mental health of the children rescued from the GISBH charity home was being assessed. Its Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, said that the children involved were suspected of having mental health challenges, possibly due to the trauma they experienced. Simultaneously, civil and syariah legal practitioner, Muhammad Hariz Md Yusoff, said that there were children rescued who were at risk of being declared stateless (stateless) because of their unclear lineage status.
