BEIJING: At least 20 high-speed railways are expected to start operation this year, according to Economic View’s calculation.

At least 20 high-speed railways are expected to start operation this year, according to Economic View’s calculation.The trip between Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia Hui autonomous region, and Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi province, will be shortened from 14 hours to three hours.

The Beijing-Shenyang high-speed railway, a line of around 698km, is expected to open at the end of the year too.The Taiyuan-Jiaozuo high-speed railway is expected to open in December. In 2019, more than 5,000km of high-speed railways went into operation. The total length of China’s high-speed railways has reached 35,000km. — China Daily/ANN
