The other officer, a 29-year-old woman was shot in the left ankle.
"We pray for their speedy recoveries and ask the public to assist the NYPD with this ongoing investigation," the statement read. The gunman, who fled the scene in a white Nissan sedan heaving east on 101st Avenue remains at large.
