UPDATE: 2 Newark police officers in stable condition after being stabbed in an apartment building on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard. Their injuries are said to be non-life threatening. The suspect was taken into custody.
The officers were responding to a domestic violence call in an apartment building on the 600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard at around 4:45 p.m. when a man attacked them, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said.
Both officers were transported to University Hospital for treatment and are reportedly in stable condition. Their injuries were said to non-life threatening, CBS2's Ali Bauman reported.Please stay with CBS2, CBS News New York, and CBSNewYork.com for more on this developing story.
