Close to 50 Penang JPJ enforcement personnel have been questioned by MACC in connection with an alleged lorry driver protection racket.

The two Penang JPJ enforcement officers and a former SPAD staff who were remanded for seven days today.

They had been detained to facilitate investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission into a protection racket involving lorry drivers who flouted traffic laws in the state.The three men, aged between 32 and 48, are being investigated under Section 17 of the MACC Act 2009.
