PETALING JAYA: Two cases of monkeypox have been reported in Malaysia, the health ministry has confirmed.
Health director-general Dr Radzi Abu Hassan said the first case was confirmed on July 26 involving a male foreigner who has been residing and working in Malaysia since April 2022.The second case, confirmed on July 29, involves a Malaysian man who is a close contact of the first case. “All close contacts for the first case were identified and closely monitored. Aside from the second case, no one else experienced any monkeypox symptoms,” he said in a statement today.
