PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Tommy Thomas has dismissed claims that he agreed to a US$1.75bil settlement with investment bank Goldman Sachs over the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal.
“We did not . No settlement on any terms had been reached with Goldman Sachs when I resigned on Feb 28, ” he said in a statement Friday . “Hence, I will cease commenting on the subject, except to deny that we agreed to accept U$1.75bil, ” he said. He said the letter contradicted the former attorney general’s assertion that the Perikatan Nasional government should not have accepted the out-of-court settlement.
