Investigators said a woman called for help as police were at the scene, hiding in her living room after allegedly being shot in the face, leg, and arms by her son, Stephen Burkes.

The deadly shooting happened in the middle of the night on Friday at a home in the 2300 block of Binley Drive near Wickersham Lane. Editor's note: In previous reports, police said the victim was Burkes' mother's boyfriend. During his court hearing, the hearing officer said the victim was Burkes' mother's fiancé.
