196 spesies burung direkodkan di hutan simpan Perlis
ARAU: Jabatan Perhutanan negeri dengan kerjasama Persatuan Kelestarian Ekosistem Alam telah menerbitkan sebuah buku bertajuk ‘Birds of Perlis State Park@Wang Kelian, Perlis’ sempena sambutan hari ulang tahun keputeraan Raja Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail ke-80 pada tahun ini.
Daripada jumlah itu, sebanyak 169 spesies burung direkodkan di kawasan Taman Negeri Perlis, Wang Kelian di sini yang dimasukkan dalam buku tersebut. Maklumat inventori ini penting sebagai persediaan kepada Jabatan Perhutanan negeri untuk menjadikan pemerhatian burung sebagai produk pelancongan baharu bagi Perlis yang dikenali sebagai ‘Avitourism’.
