Timbalan Menteri Luar, Kamarudin Jaafar berkata, Suruhanjaya Tinggi Malaysia di New Delhi telah menghulurkan bantuan consular, termasuk memberikan pek penjagaan diri kepada sebahagian anggota jemaah tabligh warga Malaysia yang sedang dikuarantin di negara itu.
“Wisma Putra menerusi perwakilan Malaysia di India sentiasa memantau rapat isu jemaah tabligh yang sedang dikuarantin di hospital atau pusat kuarantin khas di beberapa wilayah di India. Ketika ini, India masih melaksanakan sekatan pergerakan di seluruh negara sehingga 3 Mei ini untuk mengekang penularan pandemik Covid-19.
Tambahnya lagi, tindakan itu bukan sahaja akan menimbulkan salah faham dalam kalangan masyarakat, tetapi boleh merumitkan rundingan yang sedang diusahakan Wisma Putra dengan kerajaan India.
