187 flee floods in Nabawan

A TOTAL of 187 people from 51 families have been evacuated due to floods in Nabawan following heavy rain since yesterday. Sabah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat said in a statement today that they were moved to the relief centre at SIB Salarom Baru Church at 12.30am.The Public Works Department said Jalan Pamuntarian-Kabu Baru in Nabawan is impassable after being inundated by floods and there is no alternative road that can be used for the time being.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a warning forecasting thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in the west coast of the state, especially Kota Belud and Kudat, until 9am. – Bernama, April 1, 2023.
