A toxin suspected as the culprit of a lethal food poisoning outbreak in a Taipei restaurant has been detected in the feces of a chef from the Malaysian restaurant chain Polam Kopitiam's branch in Taipei's Xinyi District, Deputy Health Minister Victor Wang said Saturday.

Terengganu Prisons director Hamid Taha said these inmates were convicted of minor crimes such as trespassing, possessing small amounts of drugs, and breaching restricted areas. "This release is to allow them to reintegrate into society before being released at the end of their actual sentence period.
Hamid noted that the licensed release also enables these inmates to secure employment, thus laying the groundwork for a better and more assured future.
