A 16-year-old girl was pronounced dead after being wounded in a double shooting Monday night in the South Shore neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 10 p.m., officers were called to the 7100 block of South Yates Boulevard for a person shot, and when they arrived police found two victims who were struck by gunfire.A 32-year-old woman suffered wounds to the body, and was taken to UChicago Medicine where she was listed in good condition. A 16-year-old who also struck by gunfire was taken to the same hospital where she was listed in critical condition but was later pronounced dead, police said.
An investigation revealed the victims were shot by two gunmen who fled the scene on foot, police said.
