15th Feather Awards nominees revealed, public sector told to 'do better'
Among the nominees were Tyler ICU , Ayanda Ncwane, Yaya Mavundla, Musa Keys , Minister of Electricity Kgosientsho Ramokgopa as well as Lebohang “Lebo M” Morake. The event was hosted by the founder of the awards, Thami Kotlolo known as Thami Dish, alongside the eldest sister of the Modiselle sisters, Refilwe Modiselle. I’m really emotional in this season of my life, I’m overwhelmed with emotions. You know when you work so hard, you just keep going, you never stop to smell or pick up the flowers.
Mojapelo added that she was happy that during Pride Month she can be open, loud and proud about being queer. I am shocked because I was just invited, and I was like ‘oh I am nominated’, I am happy and grateful. It shows that I am doing something right. Hadebe shared that he did not expect the nomination as he does content creation and loves it. He said he also loves the work of other creators that he is nominated with. The organisers threw shade at the public sector and did not nominate any for having the LGBTQIA+ initiatives. They said they should “do better”.
