15kg down and going strong: Gayton McKenzie gives the skinny on his weight-loss journey
The Patriotic Alliance leader started exercising after struggling to close his suit jacket while being sworn in as a minister earlier this year.
The newly appointed Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, has hit the ground running - literally. McKenzie decided to lose weight shortly after he struggled to fasten his jacket during his swearing-in ceremony early in July.The Deputy President Paul Mashatile asked me to fasten my jacket during my swearing-in ceremony. I couldn't because of my big stomach. I have since started to run, and this morning, I was wearing the same suit. Don't be jealous, go run.
The minister shared that he ate a lot, but ran even more to stay on top of things."The food was everywhere, and I ate, but I ran more."
