The Sepang District Police Headquarters recently shared a statement concerning an incident at the Sultan Idris Shah Hospital in Serdang, where a 14-year-old
Malaysian girl had allegedly disguised herself as a medical officer and managed to enter an operation theatre to “help perform surgery”.They wrote, “The Sepang District Police Headquarters, Selangor, confirm that on August 7 at 1pm, we received a police report from the staff of the Sultan Idris Shah Hospital regarding an unknown girl in an operating theatre, claiming to be a medical officer and wanting to help perform surgery.
“At 8 August, at approximately 8:30am, the hospital identified the presence of the girl, to which the same individual was attempting to register at a counter using a fake identity. The hospital proceeded to contact the police and an arrest was made.” Police apprehended the teenager at the lobby of the hospital, and the police also confiscated scrubs and a lanyard belonging to the hospital.According to Malaysian reporter, Mohd Redzuan Abdul Manap, the teenager had apparently managed to disguise herself as a medical officer at the hospital for a week!
Investigations into this incident have been opened under Section 448 and Section 170 of the Penal Code, which is for breaking in and impersonating a public servant.
