Malaysia has suspended visa to Chinese citizens from Hubei in the wake of the coronavirus scare.
PETALING JAYA: A total of 147 Chinese nationals from China’s Hubei province have been barred from entering Malaysia since Jan 27 due to the coronavirus outbreak. On Jan 27, Malaysia temporarily suspended visa to Chinese citizens from Wuhan, the capital of Hubei, as well as surrounding areas. The home ministry said 55 Chinese nationals from Wuhan city and Hubei province were prevented from entering Malaysia on Jan 28.
A majority of them were stopped at the Sultan Abu Bakar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex at the Singapore-Malaysia border.Malaysia has so far reported eight coronavirus cases.Subscribe to our newsletter and get news delivered to your mailbox.
