A 14-year-old girl died Monday in Uintah County while driving an ATV that went off the shoulder of the roadway and rolled onto its side.

JENSEN, Uintah County — A 14-year-old girl died Monday while driving an ATV that went off the shoulder of the roadway and rolled onto its side.

First responders were called at approximately 2:20 p.m. to 6500 East and 6750 South. The Uintah County Sheriff's Office said that the girl was driving westbound on 6750 South in a side-by-side when the ATV went off the road, landing on its side and leaving the girl with fatal injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, according to the Uintah County Sheriff's Office. Police have not released the name of the victim.
