Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob says checks carried out on 2,294 mosques yesterday found that all adhered to the SOPs.

PETALING JAYA: A total of 134 individuals were caught flouting the recovery movement control order yesterday, according to Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob. Ismail said 19 of those arrested were remanded and 22 freed on bail while the other 93 were fined for taking part in activities that made physical distancing difficult or going against the SOPs.

In a statement, he also said that checks were carried out on 2,294 mosques involving 283,355 individuals to ensure compliance with the SOPs for Friday prayers.Ismail also said 2,271 checks were carried out on individuals undergoing home quarantine. He said 3,384 Malaysians returned through the country’s international borders and were placed in 14 hotels and five other quarantine centres between July 24 and yesterday.Subscribe to our newsletter and get news delivered to your mailbox.
