Describing him as "the last juvenile foreign terrorist on the periodic list," the military said that the minor entered the country in 2017 as a tourist with his stepfather, mother, and two brothers. The statement said that the minor's mother blew herself up while attacking a military checkpoint in September 2019, while his stepfather and one of his brothers died in an encounter with troops in November 2019. His other brother, Yusof, was killed in an encounter with troops in April 2021.
