is somewhat of a biographic telenovela which tells the story of one of the most successful Latin music stars, Celia Cruz. I say somewhat because it's based on true events, but they also add some drama that didn't happen IRL, which Telemundo discloses at the beginning of every episode.
The show starts off with Celia living in Cuba in the 1950s trying to become the lead singer of a popular band called La Sonora Matancera. This telenovela shows the struggles she faced after having to leave Cuba, the highs of becoming one of the most successful salsa singers of our time, and the sadness of not being able to go back home.
