The number of arrests is down from 133 last year. Based on organizers’ reports that 90% of the available tickets had been sold, about 36,000 people had tickets to the event, which took place May 19-21 in Gulf Shores. A report provided by the Gulf Shores Police Department lists a total of 107 arrests made by the Gulf Shores PD and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. Those arrests resulted in 148 charges, 109 of which were for unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Additionally there were two charges of distribution of a controlled substance and 15 of second-degree marijuana possession.
Eight people were charged with second-degree criminal trespass and four with public intoxication. Other charges include two for attempts to elude officers, two for resisting arrest and one each for third-degree escape, third-degree assault, possession of a forged instrument, exposure or public lewdness, third-degree criminal trespass and obstructing government operations.
