Some MCU origins are better than the comics...

On more than one occasion, Marvel villains have received better origin stories in the MCU than they did in the original comics. While this can sometimes be attributed to the nature of comics and the difference in medium, sometimes it just comes down to a more substantial narrative being written for the screen. Across Marvel Studios' 15-year history, many classic foes have become far more dynamic once adapted for the MCU.

9 Helmut Zemo Marvel Comics' Baron Helmut Zemo is certainly a more straightforward villain in the comics, having been a key leader of Hydra while also leading teams such as the Masters of Evil and founding the first iteration of the Thunderbolts where his team only pretended to be heroes . Conversely, the MCU's Baron Zemo is much different.

Using alien tech from the Battle of New York, the Vulture's flight suit was created along with the gauntlets for the Shocker and more unique weapons, all of it designed and created by the Tinkerer. A disenfranchised working-class man embittered against the rich and powerful, Vulture was an incredibly sympathetic villain after losing his livelihood. Likewise, he became even more compelling following the major twist that Spider-Man was dating his daughter.

Although He Who Remains still created the TVA and the Time-Keepers in the MCU, the trio was revealed to be nothing more than robotic figureheads. Instead, He Who Remains was actually Nathaniel Richards who sought to create the "Sacred Timeline" to ensure that the multiverse and his variants wouldn't be unleashed.

4 Ego Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's Ego is one of the easiest improvements from the comics. Played by Kurt Russell, Ego the Living Planet had a human form and was Star-Lord's Celestial father. Seeking to spread his consciousness across the galaxy with help from his progeny after creating countless children who could share in his power, Ego's efforts were ultimately prevented by Star-Lord and his allies.
