"I was very concerned about being able to run a festival without an artistic director," says Jim Townsend, the Houston Cinema Arts Society's executive director."I was really excited for her and for the position she got...but the timing was awkward because it was in the middle of the year. She had already programmed a couple of things, or at least started the process.
