Star Wars has had a stream of new novels since the start of the new Disney canon in 2014, and 10 books are especially worthy of every fan's time.
Star Wars books have become just as essential to canon as the movies themselves, making several novels must-reads for every fan. While the old Expanded Universe had a hierarchy of canon, Lucasfilm confirmed that every new Star Wars story would have equal canon status when the EU was rebranded as "Legends" in 2014. This means that stories told in the books have just as much relevance as the movies and TV shows, allowing the saga's various storylines to be expanded in great detail.

5 Lost Stars Star Wars: Lost Stars by Claudia Gray is arguably her greatest Star Wars book and certainly the most emotional. Lost Stars is essentially the Romeo and Juliette of the Star Wars franchise, following two childhood friends who grow up to be on opposite sides of the Galactic Civil War. This allows for an honest view of the Rebellion and the Empire from both sides of the conflict, especially once the story crosses over with the original trilogy and the Battle of Jakku.
