The Fox X-Men movies presented many different versions of Marvel's mutants, but one particular mistake related to a character bodes well for the MCU.

One mistake in Fox's X-Men movie franchise is actually great for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The MCU is starting to ramp up its timeline to introduce the franchise's original take on the X-Men. Before doing so, Marvel Studios is allowing some of Fox's X-Men characters to appear one more time. Evan Peters appeared as a version of Quicksilver — although not really the speedster — in the Disney+ series WandaVision.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now, Deadpool 3 is set to bring Ryan Reynolds' title character to the MCU full-time, and the movie will also see Hugh Jackman's Wolverine return for at least one more adventure. As the MCU appears to be honoring what worked in the previous Fox X-Men movies before Kevin Feige announces the reboot of the mutants, there is one character that is not currently set to appear in the MCU and who did not really get a chance to shine in the X-Men movie franchise.

Remy LeBeau's powers as Gambit were interestingly displayed in the movie, but as X-Men Origins: Wolverine best scene was the opening, some other elements that worked in the heavily criticized movie ended up being forgotten. Among those is Gambit, and the MCU can profit off Fox's mistake with the character.

MCU Gambit Should Be Channing Tatum's Version Fox's mistakes with Gambit included the studio never fulfilling the potential of Channing Tatum's planned movie as the mutant. Tatum almost played Gambit in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, but after that not coming to pass, the actor spent more than a decade trying to breathe life into the role, even going as far as having a Gambit movie scheduled for release in 2020.
