3 Malaysian climbers became stranded on their way down after reaching the peak of Mount Denali in Alaska. According to CBS News, 2 climbers have been stuck near the top of Denali since the morning of May 28, 2024.
According to updates from @NewsBFM, 1 of the 3 climbers, Muhammad Illaham Ishak, 47, descended alone to Camp Five to seek help for the other two climbers.One of them had injured his leg, prompting them to make an emergency call on Tuesday afternoon using satellite equipment. Illaham is currently in hospital receiving treatment, while the 2 other climbers are taking shelter in a snow cave near the ‘Football Field’ area, which is approximately 200 meters from the summit.
Zainudin Lot, aged 47, and Zulkifli Yusuf, aged 37, are currently waiting for rescue at around 5,990 meters altitude. The park rangers are all set for the rescue, but they’re holding off until the weather’s good enough for helicopters to deploy.
