A boat passenger was ejected and killed Tuesday when the vessel hit a dock along Black Creek, according to FWC.
According to FWC, a 20-foot vessel with two passengers was traveling west on Black Creek when it struck a large boathouse dock and then a female passenger was ejected.
A homeowner saw that passenger in the water, jumped in, brought her to shore and attempted CPR, but she died, FWC said. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time,” FWC said in a statement. FWC did not say in the statement whether the other passenger was hurt, but Clay County Fire Rescue had originally told News4JAX that two people were injured and then the Clay County Sheriff’s Office later said one died.Aerial footage from the Sky 4 helicopter shows the scene of a deadly boat crash Tuesday on Black Creek.
